Begin Post. thacker [states]: Anyone that objects to use of the paragraph element would be a fool, therefore why would I even infer such a bizarre thing. However, someone who uses the paragraph element and its exclusive behavior within a specific user agent in attempts to disavow pragmatic use of punctuation and not able to acknowledge its, sometimes, 'quirkiness' in said user agent could be construed as what? As far as the CSS Black Hole -- a designer doesn't want that punctuation to show up visually within, for example, the list element but knows that it is needed within a list so that a user agent will not render the list as a run-on sentence would do what. That is a tough one. Again, Hi[c]kson remains emphatically correct in his overall stated views regarding punctuation. Perhaps the better thing to have done rather than labeling it 'misinformation' or a basis for such a thing would have been to discuss and acknowledge its practical application outside of any specific reference that you use to try to disqualify it. Faulkner, point blank and keep in mind this will be a first for me within any blog posting --- you have clearly demonstrated that you are, at least in this instance, what you so freely try, and without success, to point out as others to be. That is a sincere and non-acrimonious assessment. Frankly, this blog, too often, takes on the appearance of justification of certain accessibility techniques based upon the performance/interpretation of one or two assistive technology user agents or, at the least, in attempts to defend Freedom Scientific's product. To me, that smacks right up there with those who professed that Web design should be based upon how Internet Explorer 6.0 renders content. Thank you very much. End Post.
