Instructions to Enable Closed Captions in Window's Media Player.

Captions usually need to be turned on manually within Window's Media Player. Instructions are provided below for the various versions of Window's Media Player.

In versions older than Media Player 9:
From the main menu, Select:  View > Captions or View > Now Playing Tools > Captions.
In Media Player 9 or Media Player 10:
From the main menu, Select:  Play > Captions and Subtitles > On if Available or English.
In Media Player 11:
From the main menu, Select:  Play > Lyrics, Captions and Subtitles > English Captions.
Additionally, within Media Player 10 and Media Player 11:
From the main menu, Select:  Tools > Options > Security > Show local captions when present.

The last adjustment for security in your Media Player version 10 or 11 should only be done if you have a good anti-virus program installed. As always, please keep your anti-virus definition files updated regularly.

Born: 25 September 1930 Died: 10 May 1999.

American poet, songwriter, musician, composer, cartoonist, screenwriter and author of children's books.

Shel Silverstein is best known as an author of children's books. Prior to that, Silverstein was a noted contributor to Playboy Magazine. Several of his cartoons from that period are presented below.
